A stem and leaf plot is an organizational way of mapping numerical data. The stem is the common digit at the beginning of the numbers and the leaf(s) is/are the ending digit(s).
For instance, this stem and leaf plot displays the ages at a family reunion. The first row shows 01, 08, 09 or 1, 8, 9. The second row shows 32, 34, 37, and so on.
